Ans. Regarding ‘Financing Options’, this work well outside India where there is a control on Social Security numbers etc and one can control frauds. Unfortunately in India, with the amount of defaulters, the Banks do not provide 0% financing plans like they do in the USA etc. We do have some tie up with HDFC. Please speak to the accounts department for the same.

Ans. We have similar policies for patients in India and from overseas. Your geographical location does not change our approach to patients and that is called standardized treatment for which we are certified from the JCI- Joint Commission International- USA. You can go through our Patients Rights and Responsibilities Brochure. Personal insurance coverage is what you would have chosen to cover yourself under; this can differ from person to person depending on the slab they choose.

Ans. Ours is the first and one of the only eye hospitals in India to have got the Joint Commission Accreditation from USA, the JCAHO international body which certifies hospitals outside USA to be on par with US standards of care. However, there is no affiliation to any other centre outside Mumbai.

Ans. Due to domestic market protection, the US FDA has been slow to approve of German lasers. For example, the earlier laser we used-The Wavelight Eye Q, was used by us for 4 years before being launched in the US. Now this is a popular laser in the USA. Wavelight platform is US FDA approved. The Concerto is the 3rd generation laser which is a concept laser and hence very few have been made. It has the European CE approval.

Ans. There is no mandatory National body in India to certify center, but what we have is far above the rest…this is the Joint Commission Accreditation or JCI, and any doctor you speak to will know the credibility of our organization if they know that we are JCI certified. This certification or accreditation process is from the USA and they certify in simple words hospitals outside USA only and only if they are on the same standards of care and healthcare delivery.
